History
Cohiba was established in 1966 at the personal request of Fidel Castro and was initially produced exclusively for senior Cuban officials and diplomatic gifts. It wasn’t until 1982 that Cohiba cigars were released commercially - beginning with the iconic Lanceros, Coronas Especiales, and Panetelas. Production takes place at Havana’s famed El Laguito factory, with some expansion into the Partagás factory for select vitolas. Over the decades, Cohiba has become synonymous with Cuban cigar excellence, luxury, and expert craftsmanship.
